Tech Support

Support is available directly from Digitool engineers on either a pay-per-incident basis or an annual support basis. Support includes access to relevant patches.

MCL users find the Info-MCL mailing list to be a valuable resource for sharing information and getting help. If you have any questions about MCL that aren't answered on this site, or if you have tips or suggestions to share, send them to the Info-MCL mailing list. This is the best place to start when you have a problem or a question of a general nature.

You can also send mail to Digitool's engineering staff for clearly-defined implementation defects or performance problems. We strongly recommend that you use the Info-MCL mailing list as a first resort unless you have a well-researched or highly-sensitive issue to report.

See below for details on how to access the Info-MCL mailing list.

NOTE: All messages to Info-MCL go directly to a public mailing list. Unless you have subscribed to the list (see instructions below), you will not receive responses to your inquiry.

e-mail: info-mcl@digitool.com

Info-MCL Mailing List

The Info-MCL mailing list is served by the Mailman program.

All submissions (messages to be read by everyone on the list) are sent to: info-mcl@digitool.com

To subscribe, unsubscribe, etc., go to the MCL List Information Page.

An independent archive of info-mcl (for the last few months) is available here. Recent archive (since May 23, 2004) is available here.

Mailing list access from your browser:

The MCL List Information Page allows you to do the following:

  • Subscribe to the Info-MCL digest
  • Subscribe to the Info-MCL individual messages
  • Unsubscribe from the Info-MCL mailings

Manual mailing list access:

To post a message to the Info-MCL mailing list, send your message to info-mcl@digitool.com.

Usenet News related to MCL

news: comp.lang.lisp.mcl

The MCL newsgroup is relayed bidirectionally to the Info-MCL mailing list. The relay incorporates several measures to discourage spam:

  1. Mail relayed to news does not identify email address of sender or recipients.
  2. News is relayed to mail only if not cross-posted.
  3. The mail-to-news relay may be suppressed by including the text [NONEWS] in the subject.

NOTE: The relay is unreliable at times. For best coverage of MCL-related conversation, we suggest that you subscribe to the Info-MCL mailing list.

Digitool FTP Site

Digitool maintains an FTP site of useful code, patches, and documentation. The site is also a repository for an extensive collection of user-contributed code.

For user-contributed code:

Digitool operates both a directory of MCL software and an FTP site for the large collection of code contributed by MCL users.

  1. MCL Software Directory: www.hotdispatch.com/mcl

  2. anonymous FTP: ftp.digitool.com:/mcl/contrib/

If you'd like to contribute to this collection, please follow these guidelines:

  • Clearly identify the author and copyright status in a prominent location in your upload.
  • If you do not want your contribution included on a future MCL CD-ROM, say so in a prominent location.
  • Upload your contribution to ftp.digitool.com/mcl/contrib/incoming/ .
  • Upload as plain text if your contribution is a single source code file.
  • Upload a BinHex'd archive if your contribution contains multiple files or non-text files.
  • Make an entry for your contribution in the MCL Software Directory (click on the "Post Software" button).
  • Announce your contribution to info-mcl.

Incoming contributions are moved periodically from the incoming directory to the contrib directory.

For patches to MCL:

anonymous FTP: ftp.digitool.com:/mcl/patches/

For a free demo version of MCL:

See the details on our download information page.
